BIM Execution Plan: The Document That Defines How a Project Team Actually Uses BIM

BIM Execution Plans (BxP or BEP) specify how models will be created, shared, and used on a specific project — what software, what level of development, what coordination processes, what deliverables. Projects without BEPs often accumulate expensive coordination failures; projects with well-developed BEPs align all parties on BIM use. Understanding BEP structure and contents helps contractors participate in and sometimes lead BEP development.
